MeisterSinger is known for its single-handed watches, but one hand doesn’t mean ordinary. For example, take a bell hora fitted with a hour in passing Chiming bell complication. Usually the domain of high-end watches, the Bell Hora Sonnerie au Passage retails for less than EUR 4k and looks unlike anything else in its genre. Appearing in two dial colors, the Bell Hora is now enticing its Dutch fans with a limited edition of 50 pieces for the Netherlands in a distinctive green color.
This special edition for the Dutch market comes with an opaline green dial with a nice sunburst finish and features a signature engraved snail motif that supports 24-hour numerals (on a double scale). As with all MeisterSinger models, all numbers are double digits to balance them out, a signature touch. It may seem a bit confusing at first, but the hours are clearly indicated by two digits and a thick white marker, and the minutes are indicated by smaller white markers with slightly taller and wider quarter and half hours. Being a single-hand watch, the white central hand is exceptionally long and thin, reaching the peripheral minute track.
Housed in a polished 43mm stainless steel case with 13mm and 50m water-resistance, the crown and pusher are on the left, with a large time-setting crown at 9 o’clock and a small on/off pusher for positioning. Bell Hora in silent mode. The position of the crown on the left is a signature feature of almost all MeiseterSinger special editions for the Netherlands. If you choose to disable the chiming function, the pusher will reveal a black mark to remind you to reactivate the chimes – or.
To keep costs under control, the Sellita SW200 relies on a base caliber with a chiming module developed by MeisterSinger’s Bell Hora brand and based on the existing jumping hour module for Salthora. Although there is a sapphire window on the caseback, you cannot see the striking module as it is sandwiched between the base movement and the dial. The Chiming Module is based on Meister Singer’s Jumping Hour Module and has been modified to sound a striking hammer every hour instead of the jump of an hour disc. The movement beats at 4Hz and offers a power reserve of 38 hours.
Another unique item is the eco-friendly cork strap from Portugal. This eco-friendly material can be harvested several times a year without cutting down a tree and is lightweight, waterproof and comfortable to wear. The Bel Hora NL Edition is limited to 50 pieces and will retail EUR 3,790.
