Watch time New York 2022 The iconic event is just one week away, making its seventh annual return to Gotham Hall in midtown Manhattan on October 21-23. The three-day horological event is dedicated to showcasing various timepieces and giving guests the opportunity to interact with industry experts. Over the course of the weekend, more than 30 participating watch brands will showcase their most sought-after releases from the past year.
One of the newest releases showcased at this year’s event Grand Sport Tourbillon Golden Brown From a Swiss watchmaker Laurent Ferrier. Launching today, the watch is an updated version of the Grand Sport Tourbillon, which was originally launched in 2019. Now celebrating the brand’s 12th anniversary, Laurent Ferrier has transformed the original Grand Sport Tourbillon with a precious metal construction and a warm brown color.
Like the steel original, the watch’s construction is inspired by racing cars with their elegant curves and clean lines, but now executed in 5N red gold. The case measures 44mm in diameter and is secured by an integrated bracelet. On the surfaces of the case, Laurent Ferrier explored satin-brushed and mirror-polished finishes. The cushion-shaped bezel uses a circular satin-brushed finish, and the center case has a horizontal satin-brushed profile, while the sides, in contrast, are mirror polished.
The warm-toned case features a graduated chocolate-colored dial that displays lighter tones in the center, gradually moving outwards to darker tones. Marking the hours are applied geometric indexes made of the same 5N red gold, as well as “Assegai-shaped” hands that match the line’s signature. The entire dial has an opaline finish that softens its rich appearance and brings to mind the discreet designs intrinsic to the Laurent Ferrier design code. There is also a small seconds indicator at 6 o’clock that is attached to the tastefully concealed tourbillon carriage pivot.
The Laurent Ferrier LF619.01 tourbillon caliber powers the model. The movement features a refined carriage housing a double-balance-spring tourbillon, perfected to further evoke the appearance of a car engine. Exposed by a sapphire caseback, the mechanism has a parallel satin-brushed finish on the bridges and a ruthenium treatment. The movement ensures a power reserve of 80 hours for smooth operation of the sporty timepiece.
The Laurent Ferrier Grand Sport Tourbillon Golden Brown (ref. LCF044.R5.B1RC1) is limited to 24 pieces, priced upon request, and available through authorized boutiques worldwide.
