Watchtime New York not only showcases exciting and new timepieces, but also showcases the design trends that have dominated the release market over the past year. The most talked about trend from 2022 is the widespread use of brightly colored dials and the general integration of color. One such brand is to experiment with color dial Hats With its latest Quai des Berges The model, an update to the collection, now takes the form in something other than an attractive emerald green. Green has been the color of the year for watches, from the Piaget Polo Date to the Endeavor Center Seconds Concept Lime Green (see more on that, here).
The Quai des Bergues collection is not new to Czapek, having an established design code first released as a tribute to the revival of the Czapek & Cie brand. In this vein, for Quai des Berges Emerald Green LCzapek chose the familiar 42.5mm steel case, utilizing the “Revolution” silhouette and finishing it with a mirror polish.
The emerald green enamel dial is hand-finished and has an edgy “flincue” texture that contrasts with the smooth surface of the case. Between 7 and 8 o’clock, there is a small-seconds sub-dial, between 4 and 5 o’clock a split sub-dial displays the day on the left and the power reserve on the right. Applied Roman numeral hour markers complement the rhodium-plated steel hands featured in the brand’s signature “lily flower” style.
Powering the model, Czapek makes use of them High quality watch making The proprietary caliber SXH1, originally designed for the previous Quai des Bergs model to be distinctly technical and sophisticated. The current iteration is a reworking of the movement to reflect the brand’s increased inspiration from Antarctic design. The result is skeletonized sections of vast openwork visible through the sapphire caseback. The mechanical hand-wound movement has a 168-hour (7-day) power reserve on 2 barrel springs.
The Czapek Quai des Bergues Emerald Green is now available for pre-order via the brand’s website, priced at CHF 18,000 (approximately $18,350).
