For its seventh annual return to Gotham Hall in midtown Manhattan, Watch time New York 2022 Bringing together over 30 participating watch brands and their most sought-after releases from the year. The event will take place from October 21-23, with three days dedicated to showcasing a variety of timepieces and encouraging excellent conversations between guests and industry experts.
One of those who joined the professional crowd Moritz GrossmannA German watchmaker, it’s brand new universal time Model on display. The model is inspired by the brand’s history, which excels in the tides of travel that make adjusting for local time zones an absolute necessity. Also, UNIVERSALZEIT is a component that displays world time at a glance.
The watch is substantial on the wrist with a diameter of 44.5 mm and a height of 13.78 mm. The case consists of three parts, all made of steel. Three steel crowns on the outside of the case serve to wind the watch, set the time, and adjust the hour hand when necessary.
The display is designed to look like a world map, to make the world time activity more legible. The dial is made of solid silver with rhodium-plated, beveled time windows at 6 positions on the map. There are also hour markers on the outer edge of the dial that indicate the primary time zone. The background color of the dial is rich blue, while the countries are depicted in blush.
Moritz Grossmann chose the manufacture caliber 100.7 to power the hands on this model. It is a manual winding movement that provides a 42-hour power reserve when fully wound. The movement’s functions include hours, minutes and a center seconds with stop seconds. When setting the clock, the time in all windows is automatically synchronized based on the current time zone it is set to.
